Narrative Concering Books Wraeththu (Wraeththu #1-3)

In this powerful and elegant story set in a future Earth very different from our own, a new kind of human has evolved to challenge the dominion of Homo sapiens. This new breed is stronger, smarter, and far more beautiful than their parent race, and are endowed with psychic as well as physical gifts. They are destined to supplant humanity as we know it, but humanity won't die without a struggle.

Here at last in a single volume are all three of Constantine's Wraeththu trilogy: The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit, The Bewitchments of Love and Hate, and The Fulfilments of Fate and Desire.

Criticism Based On Books Wraeththu (Wraeththu #1-3)
This book caused me a lot of grief when I first came across it in my teens. Grief as in the book and its setting was so wonderfully written, but while Storm has a way with words, some of her characters got me so depressed that I refused to read the second book in the trilogy (or merely skipped it until recently).Let's start from the beginning. Book 1The most intriguing book since it explores the origins of Wraeththu from the eyes of Pell, a stunningly beautiful peasant boy, living in a desert

(Re-posted from http://theturnedbrain.blogspot.com)So whenever I think about how "good" a book is there always appears in my mind a spectrum. On one end we have PLOT and on the other end there is CHARACTER. I feel like the books that could most objectively be called "the best" fall right smack in the middle of these two things, a perfect mix of plot and characters. But to be honest the books I love best tend to be way unbalanced, in favour of the character side of things. Objectively I can admit

I read this first many moons ago and was just swept away by the imagery and the writing. It was a dark, fantastical mix of everything I was intrigued by at the time. I consumed the series although I did find the unremitting angst in the latter books far too heavy and tedious. The Wraeththu were beautiful, long lived and almost unageing. They had magic and mystery. They were sexy and cool, what was there to dislike about them... . :-) Reflecting on them now with time and experience on my side it

I want to call this a dystopia or an apocalyptic novel, but I'm not sure that it fits either definition. For man, it is certainly a cautionary tale, but it's not the story of man. It's the story of the Wraeththu, who evolve from and are torn from the last generation of man. It's a bloody rebirth or step in evolution. A chance to re-invent what is the best and worst of human, no harish, nature. This was an omnibus edition of the first three books of the Wraeththu, but I can't imagine reading them

This book is why I love goodreads. It's not in my library. If I'd seen it in a bookshop the cover and the back blurb would not have caught my interest. But because it kept appearing in lists on goodreads that other books I enjoyed were on, I noticed it, read reviews on goodreads and decided to read the book. And really enjoyed it. Like I found and enjoyed Mind Fuck before this one. I think my days of aimlessly wandering the library isles, after finishing up all the books of yet another writer,

This is my second review of this book--- because hell, it deserves two. I technically finished this book last year, except for the last chapter (today). But I am happy to start the year with this book, especially as on the Eve of January first, I shook my partner awake (he has also read this book and knows the details) and in a post-champagne haze in the middle of my best-friend's darkened living room, started rambling to him about how this book was really a grand extended metaphor regarding the

See my drag queen book review at: https://youtu.be/le6bGNGkKeUWhile I recognize there may be some issues with these novels, I'm still giving it 5 stars as these books really had an impact on me when they were first published. In sum, if you want to entertain a vision of the world taken over by horny goth twinks, you will probably love this trilogy.
