Comment On Of Books Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck
**spoiler alert**Why do people have to die? Why can't we have a nice happy ending story in a book? There's so much death in real life already. Sad ending lingers with you longer. They should put cautionary advisory label on the book. Yang pernah putus cinta/kecewa mungkin akan lebih mafhum perasaan Zainuddin.

Being my first time reading a classic novel, I have to say that this book is a page-turner. The language was quite hard to understand (which is reasonable as it was written in old Malay/Indo and Minang languages), but as you proceed, you'll somehow be deeply engrossed with the poetic diction. Judging from the cover quote, one may think that it is just another cliche love story, but this story is much more than that as it emphasizes the aspects of the Minang tradition, the difference in social

Reading the last letter from Hayati to Zainuddin got me really fucked up. She mentioned death a lot and at that moment I already know hows the story going to end. Whyyyy Zainuddin whyyy?? I feel like slapping him in the face if he was real. Yes. Hayati deserve that but hey? Too much ego will cause you everything bitches!

"Making tears fall", that's the words to describe Buya Hamka's books. valuable to read!

great novel in the end..:) first time I read this, I feel bored by the long letters written by the two person: Zainudin & Hayati. I also hate the character of the man, that I thought was too mellow & weak. But when I read the last chapter, in my wet cheek & soaked eyes, I finally realized the message that Hamka tried to tell, about the development process of a naive man's mind to a grown up-revengeful-man. Again, it's a story about someone's ego that destroy his happiness. Hamka also

it is an evergreen classic novel. hats off to the author for being able to play with my emotion. made me cry when i read this book. set aside thr love story of these 2 main character, this novel also gives a good moral value and show how a person can reach up to the limits despite other failure in life. in other words, fall once get up twice. this story also gives you a picture of the minang culture. the real love between them seems impossible because of the boundaries of culture.. the end made

It is a classic that goes beyond romance, but rather in questioning our values and class discrimination which was prevalent in the past. The ending may not fare well to many readers but not all romance end well.
